Cytoxan

Cytoxan or cyclophosphamide is an alkylating agent. This pill is used to treat cancer, including ovarian cancer. Cytoxan works by slowing down or stopping the patient’s cancer cells growth. It is also used to treat nephrotic syndrome through the suppression of immune system.

Etoposide

Etoposide works just like Hexalen. It disturbs cancer cells’ growth and the spread in the patient’s body. Usually, Etoposide is used in combination with other drugs. Unlike the previous examples, Etoposide needs to be taken care of very carefully. A patient must take Etoposide with a full glass of water. They also need to follow the directions of their prescription as well. The pill must be taken according to the prescription, neither smaller nor larger than the recommendation.

Hexalen

Melphalan

The side effects of Melphalan include

  • Loss of appetite
  • Weight loss
  • Sores in the mouth and throat
  • Pain in muscle, joint or back
  • Missed menstrual periods
